Huanan Church Praying

The ChinaAid staff and I are praying for you and your family during this trying time when this nasty virus is creating so many problems throughout the world.

However, as you know, God is sovereign, in control and not surprised in the least bit – He’s a great and mighty God who knows our needs, fears and hears and answers our prayers.

According to Esther 4:14 I believe we’re living in “such a time as this” -- great opportunities to be “light” in a dark world -- whether it’s in China or here in America.

God has everything under control. No need to worry. In fact, it may be the greatest day the church has ever known with revival at our doorstep.

Chinese house churches have been ‘quarantined’ for decades by the Chinese Communist Party. Many brave Christians have spent countless years ‘quarantined’ in dark prison cells and in brutal labor camps.

Even though so many are isolated from fellow believers – they can’t ever be separated from God’s glory!

The Love of God can’t ever be quarantined!

I think the situation with the coronavirus is interesting because it’s given many churches in the free world one of the most powerful opportunities to empathize with the persecuted church.

As we watch our church buildings close to prevent the spread of the virus, we’ve learned, like our persecuted brothers and sisters who watch the Chinese Communist Party destroy houses of worship, that God’s true church -- the body of believers -- can’t ever be closed.

And as we switch Bible studies and community groups to Skype and Zoom calls, we’ve learned a physical quarantine can’t ever shut down prayer.  The persecuted Body of Christ in China certainly understands as well!

Join with me today and let’s fervently pray together for those affected by the virus and for those faithful believers who are ‘quarantined’ in prison for their faith.

Let’s claim these two powerful verses and speak them over the persecuted church and all those affected by the virus!

Romans 8:38-39: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our LORD.
Hebrews 2:14-15: Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might break the power of him who holds the power of death-that is, the devil- and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

Weathering the storm victoriously is what God’s people do and I am confident we will!
