Persecuted families receive Christian care packages

In the wake of a regulation prohibiting children from attending churches, China Aid began distributing care packages to heavily persecuted house churches.

As the Chinese government continues to crackdown on any type of religious education, parents and grandparents find themselves in a difficult position. Teaching those younger than 18 about anything related to religion is forbidden for fear of “brainwashing” children. As such, Christian resources for kids are difficult and dangerous to come by.

The contents of the packages, which include an illustrated “Action Bible,” school supplies, and a media player that contains an audio-Bible, Christian dictionaries, and theological commentaries, are designed to support families from areas where attending church is extremely dangerous and enable them to teach their children at home.

Additionally, the packages remind churches that receive little media attention that the outside world cares about them. One recipient, a pastor’s wife whose church has been persecuted for years, said that receiving the packages renewed her hope that others had not forgotten about them after media reports on their situation had slowed.

A gift of $35 covers the cost of the supplies and distribution, bringing hope and theological training to persecuted Christians. Though many packages have gone out, there are many more still to be sent. You can contribute to this effort with a gift to greatly encourage a suffering family.
